In these tough economic times, you have every right to question Motorola for releasing a phone that costs north of US$ 2,000. The fact that the phone is not exactly class-leading in terms of features is not an encouraging sign. So, expensive phone with not enough features…means trouble for Motorola, right?
Well, that would be the case if we’re talking about an ordinary phone. The thing is, we’re not.

Say hello to Motorola’s newest wonder, the MOTOAURA.
The AURA is the first phone in the world that has an integrated circular display. Oh no, this isn’t a regular screen that was put into a circular bezel. This baby is for real. Check out the screen and you will that the screen is indeed circular, covering every inch of space.
Well, what’s so special about a circular screen? Well, it gives Motorola the chance to put stunning screensavers into the phone. When you see the clocks Moto put into this phone, you would think it really is an expensive watch.
Speaking of watches, the circular screen isn’t the only thing in this phone that pays homage to expensive timepieces. Look at the back of the phone and you see three gears. These facilitate the AURA’s rotating cover, in a sexy, totally mechanical way.
Yes, these are tough times. But with the AURA, Motorola may just be able pull it off…its target market is probably insulated from the crisis anyway…lucky blokes.
